Man accused of Good Samaritan scam

LONDON, ONT. - A 43-year-old local man is accused of disabling strangers' minivans then posing as a Good Samaritan and offering to fix the minivans for a price.# h, \; F* n% y/ b8 K

Police said the suspect targeted people driving Chevy Ventures or Pontiac Montanas.( r% j7 x- \4 p; l2 v
. N/ Z& m* X/ `1 t1 W% {% MAccording to police, the suspect would secretly pull the plug in the fuel pump system that is accessible underneath the van on the driver's side, disabling the vehicle, then approach drivers when they return and offer to fix it in exchange for cash.

* ^( f2 R8 C# s( x8 e8 n# \Investigators discovered the scam had been happening in several parking lots throughout the city, police said.
